Smith Vending, a family owned business, was started in 1935 by Taylor Smith. Originally called Park Ridge Vending, the company first provided its accounts with peanut and gumball machines. Over the years the business grew and so did Taylor's family. His two children, Warren and Shirley, helped expand the business to include full line vending as well as concession stands.
In 1969, Warren's oldest sons (Taylor's grandsons) Ron and Steve purchased the business from Taylor and renamed it Smith Vending. Ron passed away in 1982 from complications of diabetes, but Steve continues to run the business today in the Park Ridge/Des Plaines area of Illinois.
